Report URL with filter parameters

Hello, I would like to create an URL for my report in Power BI service to automatically select a filter parameter pointing directly to slicer language version de, fr or it. I was trying to get some input from microsoft guidelines (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/collaborate-share/service-url-filters), however it looks like I am missing something to make it work.

My addition to the link was ?filter=pbi_d_translations/LanguageId eq 'fr'.

Do you know what went wrong?

Can anyone share a sample URL? Thank you.

thanks for reply. In the end I figured out the solution by myself:

1. removed default language filter from the slicer in Power BI desktop in order to allow selection of each language option in service

2. replaced "?experience=power-bi" element in URL with ?filter=pbi_d_translations/LanguageId eq 'fr'

To filter a Power BI report via URL for a slicer like language version (de, fr, it), use this format:

?filter=pbi_d_translations/LanguageId eq 'fr'

Make sure:

  • Table and column names match exactly (case-sensitive).
  • The field is used in the slicer.
  • The value exists in the data model.

For multiple values:

?filter=pbi_d_translations/LanguageId in ('fr','de','it')
