Report Bookmark for export and subscription

Hi,

I have a simple Business Case: Let's say I have a sales report with data from all my stores. I created bookmarks to easily access single-store report. Is there a way easily distribure single-store reports ? Or at least iterate to create a single page by field value?

I found this idea Microsoft Idea  · Allow subscriptions to personal bookmarks (powerbi.com) but it is about personal bookmarks, I would be okay with Report bookmarks.

Or will I have to duplicate reports or sheets to have the desired outcome?

Is this another one of these features that seems basic for a so-called BI tool, but that Microsoft did not implement?

@Anonymous Sorry I should have qualified that from the beginning.  I only have access to a Premium capacity environment and I don't know how this behaves in non-Premium.

Hi, @MartinPBI

I'm sorry. There is no subscription to a single bookmark yet. For your needs, I think the workaround is to use parameter or RLS. Both methods allow users to see only the data they can see.

You can see the Scenario 2: Using Query Parameters in Filter Rows:Power BI Desktop Query Parameters, Part 1 (biinsight.com)

You can define roles and rules in Power BI Desktop and set user access in service.

If you are interested in the workaround but have some questions, please feel free to ask me.

Export Report To File API supports both bookmarks and report level filters.

If you use Power Automate then you can get all that functionality for nearly free,  if you prefer Powershell then it is a bit more work.

Hey, thanks for the tip. But doesn't this require a Premium capacity?

I tried to do this with Power Automate but it seems exporting capabilities are locked unless you have a Premium capacity.

Hi, @Anonymous

It doesn't need a premium capacity. You can try these methods in pbi desktop, and RLS also need to configure it in service. If you have some ideas but some problems, You can explain more detailed, and I will try my best to help you.

Hi,

I was refering to Ibendlin answer; I believe export to file requires Premium subscription?

Your solutions does not really work for me. I do not wish to restrict data access. What I would want is to distribute reports based on selections/favorite.

In my example, the dashboard - contains data for all stores

I want Director of store A to have access to all the data, but be able to receive a report with his own store performance.

It seems there is no way to do this without creating one duplicated reports or sheets with individual fiters

@Anonymous  Okay, you can ask him, wish you well.
