In power BI desktop, I set my auto-page refresh interval to 30 minutes for a direct query connection to an on-premise SQL Analysis Server.
When I publish to power BI Service, the report is not updating until I manually click refresh. Furthermore, if I try to edit the report in power BI service, there is no auto page refresh dialogue available to update or change.
I have a connected and online power BI gateway.
I have a PPU license, but the workspace is a pro license I guess? Not sure I understand if this plays into it.

Hello @WizardLizard10 ,
it should show in service, but you need to connect through gateway to that you can set it.
check this regarding power bi gateway https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/service-gateway-onprem

Hi @WizardLizard10 ,
Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum.
When you publish your automatic page refresh-enabled report from Power BI Desktop to the service, you'll have to provide the credentials for the DirectQuery data source on the semantic model settings menu. You can set up the credentials so that report viewers access this data source with their own identities, respecting any security setup at the source.
Also For regular workspaces (workspaces that aren't part of a Premium capacity), automatic page refresh has a minimum interval of 30 minutes (the lowest interval allowed). If you are using Change detection refresh type it isn't available in shared capacities.

Yes I am connected via an on-premise gateway. There is still no option to refresh the page when editing the report.
You schedule your refresh in the service not in Desktop. Do you have a data gateway set up for your on premise SQL Server?
Yes I have a gateway setup. I am trying for a page refresh. Not a semantic model refresh. But I am newer with direct query, and maybe thats what I need to set up.
