So, I am very new to Power BI and Power Automate, as of last week.
My setup:
Workspace with Premium.
I get this error when trying to connect to my Sharepoint file in Power BI, Get Data from Web Source.
We do not use Anonymous shares, on valid organizational credentials.
Anonymous login does not work either.
Currently I just sync the Sharepoint to my business one drive and use the from excel workbook source.
But, after updating the Excel workbook Power BI does not update, I have to open Power BI Desktop, refresh data, and publish.
I have a Power Automate Cloud Flow setup to update the Dataset, but it does not work. The power flow shows succeded, but Dataset is not updated.
When
I first started using Power BI I could connect to Sharepoint just fine with Organizational Creds, and access Excel workbook, but still Power BI did not update, nor would the Power automate cloud flow update the Dataset. I still had to manually upadate vi Power BI Desktop and Publish.
For all the reports my manageers want I cannot sustain manually updating Power Bi reports, any help is appreciated.
The connection works, but the dataset still does not update. Power automate won't refresh it either
Although, the instructions you posted got me access, so we shall see if it updates. Thanks a bunch.
This won't work. I can't use the short address as you mentioned, it only gives me a list of files, not a directory to choose from.
If I copy the link to the exact xls file, I get this:
If I try to connect to folder that contains the above xls file, I get this:
If I use the From Web source and use the copied link for the xls file, I get this.
The purpose of the sharepoint conection is to conecto to a sharepoint folder, and the in powerquery, you filter the files you want to work with.
You can filter through the Folder Path Field.

Hi,
Try to use the native sharepoint conection, there you need to provide your sharepoint root url, something like https://contoso.sharepoint.com, and you should be able to acess via organizational acess.
Check this article on how you can do that.
