Hi,
I have a report in the service with various data sources which was working correctly for weeks. Recently I had to change to a new data model in Analysis services, since then, the data refresh of the report in the service is not working anymore and I cannot figure out why.
This the the error message I get in the service after starting the refresh:
The issue seems to be in relation to the Analysis service connection.
The gateways have been reconfigured, all gateways are online and are mapped to the relevant data source of the semantic model.
We have tried various things, myself ( the owner of the sematic model ) has also been classified as Admin for the gateway relevant to Analysis Services, nothing seems to solve the issue.
The data refresh of the same model in Power BI Desktop is working wihtout an issue, once in the service it is not working anymore.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks in advance

ok, I will try. Thank you

Looks like the EffectiveUserName field doesn't like backslash characters. There also seems to be a slight typo in the word Tabular .
Hi @lbendlin ,
the user name was mapped in the gateway via "Map user names" --> "Custom data" just for testing purposes. The effective user name "name.surname@company.com" was mapped to "COMPANY\USERID" which is in line with the Active directory UserID. In the error message the user is than appearing with 2 backslashes "COMPANY\\USERID", we don't understand why.
With the previous model from AS, it was working also without mapping, so only wich EffectiveUserName --"name.surname@company.com".
The error message adds also 1 blackslash for the server name / data source path.
While the server name is "XX\PowerBI", in the error message it appears as "XX\\powerbi"
The "Tabulal server" was just a typo from myself and stands for the "XX\PowerBI" server name.
