Refresh fails for reports containing Summary tables in September

We have a few reports that use a summary table of the below form:

Price Impact Summary Table = SUMMARIZE(Invoices, Invoices[Company], Invoices[CustomerGroup], Invoices[ItemCode], "YTD Price Impact", [Price Impact YTD])

Since 1st September,  the refresh on these reports has been failing with a cryptic message. 

Processing error: An unexpected exception occurred.

We suspect there is an issue with the service, we have worked around for now. The PBI desktop had no issues with these and was successfully refreshing. PBI service had no issues until 1st Sep and worked fine for a couple of months.  

Please look into it if possible.

Please follow troubleshooting steps below:

1. Check if the power bi service is still running on the server.

2. Check if the on-premises gateway or personal gateway has been updated to the lastest version.

3. Check if you have configured the data source correctly in the session of "Manage Gateway".

4. If you have selected "SSO" option, please cancel it and try again.

@v-yuta-msft Verified that the error is not gateway related. We have 50+ reports and only 5 had this issue.  Something changed to the service in September.
