I'm using fabric warehouse in import mode in power bi. In power bi desktop its refreshing well, but in service I'm getting the above error. How to fix this, the single signon is not working.

Hi @DiKi-I,
Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum.
Based on the error and your setup, the issue is happening because your semantic model in Power BI Service is still using a default connection, which doesn't have any explicit credentials assigned. While Power BI Desktop uses your local auth context, the service needs a defined method to authenticate against the Fabric Warehouse.
You can fix it by:
* First go to your semantic model in Power BI Service. Navigate to the Workspace where your dataset/semantic model is published. Click on the ellipsis (⋯) next to the model and select “Settings.”
* Noiw ccroll to the “Gateway and Cloud connections” section. Under “Cloud connections”, you will see the Fabric Warehouse connection listed. Click “Edit credentials” beside it.
* In the credential settings in authentication method choose OAuth2 and set privacy level to Organizational then click Sign in and authenticate using your organizational account then save the settings.
Once this is done, try refreshing the semantic model again in the service, it should work without error.
Also notethat if Single Sign-On (SSO) isn’t working, it may not be supported for your specific Fabric Warehouse setup, or your Azure AD permissions may not allow it. Using OAuth2 with explicit sign-in ensures the connection is authorized correctly for the Power BI Service.
If I misunderstand your needs or you still have problems on it, please feel free to let us know.
Best Regards,
Hammad.
