Refresh button is not working

I have created a dashboard in Power BI and embedded a refresh button in order to refresh the data whenever the business user want. This refresh button was created using power automation option in desktop. But when publish it to the power bi service port it's not working. The source for the data source for this report was share point portal.

Any help much appreciated.

Hi @Anonymous
Thank you for reaching out microsoft fabric community forum.

  • When publishing to Power BI Service, you need to ensure that your Power Automate flow is connected to the published dataset in the service, not just the local version in Power BI Desktop. Open Power Automate, edit your flow, and make sure the dataset in the service is selected.
  • Your Power Automate flow must have permission to refresh the dataset in Power BI Service .Ensure your Power Automate flow uses a valid connection and has admin/editor access to the dataset.
  • Since your data source is SharePoint, Power BI Service requires valid credentials to refresh it. Go to Power BI Service → Settings → Dataset Settings and re-enter credentials for the SharePoint data source.
  • Even though you're using a manual refresh button, your dataset should have at least one scheduled refresh in Power BI Service. Enable Scheduled Refresh in Power BI Service to avoid permission issues.
