Refresh Power BI Dataset in SQL Server after ETL

Hi all,

we have deployed an App in Power BI and we need now to refresh the Power BI Dataset after the ETL process which runs every 3 hours.

The goal is to schedule another step on the SQL Agent Job (or within the ETL process) that refresh the dataset.

How can i do this?

Regards,

Francesco

Hi , @FrancescoSCP

Based on your requirement description and explanations, If you want to schedule a Power BI dataset refresh after the ETL process in the SQL agent jobs, I think the only possibility for us is to meet the pre-requirement of XMLA connectivity for the Power BI datasets to external tools and using the XMLA endpoint to the Power BI datasets to SSMS tool and try the XMLA refresh first, then you can further explore if there's a chance to put this "Process data" for your Power BI datasets operations into your SQL agent to make your goal achieved:
