Hi everybody.
I need help with the refresh. I'm making something wrong, and I can't realize what is!.
It's simple, but I don't know where my problem is:
1) I have some TXT. and Excel files in my computer, I created a Pbix. file using that dataset.
2) I published (uploaded) the file to the web service.
3) I installed a " On-premises data gateway (personal mode)" in my computer.
4) I edited the credentials for that Pbix file.
After that, nothing happens with the refresh. I tried changing some information in the TXT or Excel files, and trying with the manual refresh (and the automatics) and the visualizations don't change.
I'm missing something? I understand that when you make all the work in the desktop and publish the file in the service, each time the dataset change, you're going to see the changes in the service (after the refresh - manual or automatic - ), without using the power bi desktop.
Thanks anything you could explain me in order to solve this problem

SOLVE:
I could solve the issue. I checked all the dates in the .txt and there was some wrong dates, with years like "2108, 9004,...". I filtered or modified that dates, and the service refresh works perfect.
Thanks everybody for the time and to help me.
Hi @deangelodenis,
Did you get any error message?
When you entered the data source credential, did you prompt successful connection?
Please check whether the installed personal gateway service is running.
If you have ever changed windows account after installing gateway, please update the windows account for personal gateway, too. Please check this document.

Yuliana Gu
Yuliana, thank so much for your quick answer and for take time to help me.
I checked everything you said (and the link and video that you shared), and I start all from the beginning. The result was strange, because I could successfully refresh a Dataset (in the BI service) whose data was two excel files (that were in my PC).I felt great and I thought that I solved the problem, but after that I tried with another dataset (which has txt files and excel files), and the refresh failed and I get the msg below.
P.S: Sorry, the image is in spanish. And thanks again.
Hi Gilbert, thanks for try to help me!
No, the TXT are not open.
Hi Gilbert,
Thanks again. Yes, I checked like you said, and yes, all match!. And if I refresh from Power BI Desktop, all the information refresh great. The problem is the refreshed from the BI service.
Looking in the community, I found this post that is the same problem that I have:
Someone said that maybe has problem with a Mesaure or with a empty row in the Excel file... THAT could be the reason of the failed refresh? In that case, what can I do? It's so strange because in the desktop works excellente, but in the service not.
Thanks again!!!
Of course, no problem.
The msg in english is:
"Cancellation occurred while sending or receiving a request" or "a cancellation occurred when sending or receiving an application".
