Hi,
I'm having trouble getting my published report to refresh. The report uses a SQL Server Analysis Service database connection provided to us by our company's point of sale service provider (they have given us the server name and a username / password login detail). Power BI Desktop connects to the server without issue and I can refresh my queries from there.
However, after publishing the report, it can't refresh. Under data source credentials, the server details are correct however it will only allow me to choose the "WindowsWithoutImpersonation" authentication method (this is the only authentication method available in the dropdown).
I would think the authentication method should be Basic - to use the username / password we have. Is there anything I can do to correct this? I'm not sure if the issue lies in settings for Windows or Power BI; or if there is a limitation for the type of server connection we have been provided.
(I'm currently using a trail version of Power BI Pro while I get this to work).
Thanks!
@LloydJHarris,
Do you connect to SSAS tabular model or Multidimension model in Power BI? Are you able to refresh your dataset when you configure on-premises gateway instead of personal gateway and add the SSAS data source within the on-premises gateway?
You can follow the guide in the article below to add SSAS data source under on-premises gateway.
