Hi all,
I am exploring the online environment of Power BI. I do know the different options and buttons available, however one remains a secret.
While in the Report View, there is a button "Refresh". However, I could not find documentation anywhere what it actually refreshes. Is it the data in the online environment, a sync with the "offline" dataset or a referesh of the tiles?
I did found an answer in this thread, but unfortunately I still don't understand the use of the button. (http://community.powerbi.com/t5/Service/Refresh-button-in-report-tab/m-p/13177/highlight/true#M4706)
Cheers

Hi @JoostttP,
Based on my test, the refresh button in report view on Power BI service is used to refresh the tiles on the report page. It doesn't refresh the dataset.![]()

In PowerBI desktop it will refresh the dataset. But in powerBI service it will refresh the GUI.
Hi arifcit,
Thanks for your post. This is the answer I was looking for 🙂
Do you know, is this documented somewhere by Microsoft/PowerBI?
Thanks.

I tried but Power BI service Refresh button does not refreshes the tiles as well. To see the change I need to refresh the page from browser itself.
I tried but even its doesn't refresh the tile UI as well.
