RLS and AD groups issue

I have set up and got running RLS on my dashboard, which works fine in the service with named users.  It also works for AD groups that contain users directly.  However, for groups that contain groups it seems to fail.  Is this correct or am I missing something ?  Is there a way around it - I don't want to have to maintain a list of hundreds of users, when a hierarchy of groups is much simpler.

Hi @watts_jim

Some groups cannot be supported to add to other groups as a memeber, you can refer to the following link.

Add another Microsoft 365 Group as a member in a Microsoft 365 Group - Microsoft Community

Compare groups - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn
