R Script Runtime Error (Issue only in Service, not in Desktop)

Hello!

I am experiencing an issue when it comes to R visuals in published reports. The visuals run and display fine in PowerBI Desktop, but not in PowerBI Service where I get this message:

Script Runtime Error

Please try again later or contact support. Details:

From what I understand, it is a recurring issue from time to time. For example, similar questions are the following:

Power BI Service Script Runtime Error - Microsoft Fabric Community

Issues when running a R Script - Microsoft Fabric Community

And the solution is to wait until the issue (known internal bug) gets fixed from the PowerBI Service side.

Is my understanding correct?

Thank you very much for your support!

Hi @Aribas , Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community Forum.

If all R packages used in your script are up-to-date, the R scripts used in your visuals are compatible with the PowerBI Service environment and no package conflicts or known limitations then the best next step is to report this issue to Microsoft Support, as it may be a bug or a backend issue. You can provide them with all the troubleshooting steps you've already taken, which will help them understand the issue better and provide a resolution.

I should also add that I checked the packages and all the known limitations when it comes to R script visuals in PowerBI and there seem to be NO conflicting issues.
