Hello,
I'm considering using R Script to do some financial calculation on my data, then put the new data back into the PowerBI Dataset as a column. I need this to work on PowerBI Service, but I have a few questions I wish to ask:
1. Based on this link, I need to set the data privacy level to public. Does this means that anyone who I share the report with will be able to see the underlying data?
2. If I use the Run R Script in PowerBI Desktop and then upload it to Power BI Service, will the R Script still work when I refresh the dataset with new data? I already have a gateway installed on the SQL Server where I'm pulling the data from. (Not sure if this is relevant.)
3. I can't seem to find Run R Script on Dataflow on Power BI Service, does this mean that R Script does not work on Power BI Service?
Thank you!

Hi @Deermeat ,
According to your description, here's my insights.
1. All R data source settings must be set to Public. All other steps in a Power Query Editor query must also be public. A Public data source gives everyone visibility to the data contained in the data source. Reference: Understand Power BI Desktop privacy levels - Power BI | Microsoft Docs
2. To schedule refresh of your R visuals or dataset, enable scheduled refresh and install an on-premises data gateway (personal mode) on the computer containing the workbook and R.
3. By my research, I'm afraid you can't run R script on Power BI Service, you can only publish the R script report from Desktop to Service. Power BI Service mainly used for publishing and sharing your data and Power BI reports.
