Question about report sharing

We have been subcontracted to prepare a set of Power BI reports for a certain organization.  The reports require PPU licensing.

I am trying to figure out the best way to share these 10 reports with several people and the organization.

The end user(s) have a PPU license.

I know I can share the reports and send each user a link.  When they click the link the Power BI service web site will open, and they can see the reports.  But this is cumbersome as there are many reports and users.   They also have a PPU workspace setup.  Say this is called “Tech reports”.

Is there a way that I can:

  • Host the reports on our own power BI account and share them with a workspace on another Power BI account?
  • In this way everyone at the customer who has access to that workspace would be able to  use the report?

Or do i have to actually publish the report to the workspace?  This would not be practical.

Thanks

Hey @PowerBI-ELM ,

I think that if you have lots of users and reports, I would think that the easiest way to do this is to have a group (in their Active Directory probably) that you share with.  You can share in the APP in a large audience as well.

Hi @PowerBI-ELM

When you want to share multiple reports to multiple users, you have 2 methods to refer to.

Method 1 : Create an app , add the reports you want to share with others in the app , then add these users' account(You can also create a group, add these users to the group, and then add group accounts inside the app) . Users can access the shared reports in the app .

Method 2 : Create a dedicated workspace and copy these reports to the workspace , then add these users in workspace .
