Processing data with SSMS takes too long

I am trying to process a partition in SSMS which is connected to my dataset in pbi service. The partition contains around 55 million records. My source system has already completed the query. SSMS keeps loading on processing data for over 1.5 hours. I can't see any reason why it is not finishing. Any idea?

Problem not solved yet, does anyone know how to speed it up?

Hello!

The main factors that can influence processing time are the response time of your data source and the resources available in your Power BI service capacity. Performing the query of this partition in your data source directly (outside the Power BI service), is the response time much smaller? How is the use of your premium capacity, is there high utilization in resource monitoring?

The response time at the data source takes around 7 minutes to fetch all the rows for this particular year. How can i monitor the current resource utilization?

If you are a capacity admin, you can install the Premium metrics app, which provides more detailed information: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/enterprise/service-premium-metrics-app

There may be other concurrent tasks like yours competing for resources, and this is causing the slowdown.

I checked the metric app, nothing special. All seems normal. I tried to load a partition, it finished in 2 hours.. for just 50 million records. How to speed this up?
