We have a problem refreshing the data in PowerBI Service with the SQL Server.
If we try to refresh with PowerBI Desktop it works fine, but if we check the options 'encrypt connection' and 'trust certificate' in PowerBI Desktop it stop refreshing.
We already check the certificate date from the SQL Server and it is ok, we restart the SQL Server service and the whole server and it still not working, also we force the encryption in the SQL Server.
We suppose that the PowerBI Service is encrypting the connection automatically, how can we unmarked the option to encrypt the connection like in PowerBI Desktop?
Complete log error: 'A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the login process. (provider: SSL Provider, error: 0 - The received certificate has expired.)'
Hi Gilbert, thanks for your reply.
The SQL certificate expires in 2023 and many people try to refresh the PowerBIs in the cloud.
The people we refresh are in UTC+1, but we have the date updated.
Hi @David_54
From the error either the certificate has expired if you could review the dates on the certificate.
The other thing I have seen is when the computer where you are running it from does not have the right date/time set. If you could look into that too?
