Powerbi Service -> Postgres & DirectQuery

Hi!

DirectQuery is not working on PowerBi Service. But it does work on PowerBI desktop.

Is this on the roadmap or already scheduled to release as this feature is available in PowerBi Desktop.

When can one configure a PowerBi Gateway to use DirectQuery with Postgres?

There is an open source connector https://github.com/sgoley/DirectQuery-for-ODBC-in-PowerBI for this, but I've yet to test it.

Anyone tested that ^?

In my opinion, I'd like to suggest you take a look at following links about create a custom connector to enable direct query connection mode.(it include detailed steps and sample formula)

BTW, please don't forget to enable custom connector support on your gateway.

Today an update for the gateway was released which includes support for DirectQuery on the gateway.

So my problem is gone 🙂
