PowerBI service with Python using Sharepoint online and AWS RDS data source

Thank you for your support.

I am trying to run python script on top of dataset available in sharepoint online. Due to limitation of python with PowerBI, on premise data gateway is not possible with python integration. Could you please confirm whether sharepoint online can be used without data gateway with python script.

Also, could you please confirm whether data gateway required for AWS RDS to use as source with direct connect for PowerBI python integration

You will have to assume that you need a personal gateway for any scenarios involving Python or R script.

Thanks for your reply.

Understood that we need personal gateway irrepective of direct or scheduled refresh or sharepoint online for running python or R scripts.

Could you please suggest if there is workaround as we like to use python sripts in use case like where user selects filters or input some values, base on which python script run modelling(pycaret) and predict some output and update the chart accordingly. 

As currently we have limitation to use personal gateway alone for using python script, we could not share report with multiple users.
