Hello community,
we are currently struggling with connecting on-prem JIRA through REST API to PowerBI Gateway.
We are using Scriptrunner REST Endpoint so we can script our own output in json and set restrictions.
We have been using it localy, by that I mean without gateway at all. Since we tried to move it to gateway, we are getting error: "The downloaded data is HTML, which isn't the expected type. The URL may be wrong or you might not have provided the right credentials to the server."
We are getting this error even if we set anonymous access on REST Endpoint. I can also reach these data when I try call that REST API on localy server, where is gateway running.
I am running out of ideas what could be the cause. Do you have any tips?
+ additional question - Am I able to find somewhere in logs returns of attempted calls? (i.e. status 400/200/201 or anything else then just that sentence about HTML data).
Thank you in advance.
David V.
Hello @Anonymous
I’d like to propose and alternative solution for you, you might want to try out our app - Power BI Connector for Jira: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1221150/power-bi-connector-for-jira?hosting=cloud&tab=overvie... it's available for Jira Cloud / Server / Data Center.
We have a handy User/Admin Guide https://aserve.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/PBCFJC/overview and fast/responsive support team at support@alpha-serve.com. Please let us know if you need any assistance.
Cheers!
Anton

Hi @Anonymous
I would suggest making sure that you got the details in the headers of the HTTP request.
Here is an example of where I put the authorization into the headers Using Power Query to get data from an API that uses a Username and Password combination - FourMoo | Power BI | Data Analytics
Hi, @GilbertQ,
thank you for response and suggestion.
I've already tried this before. It returns me the same error.
