PowerBI Visuals failing to load

Hi,

From past few days I have started facing this issue wherein few PowerBI visuals are failing to load on few PowerBI reports hosted in Gen2 workspace, they are giving below error:

At times it works but at times it fails and gives above error which I shared. We have tweaked PowerBI Gen 2 settings too and here is the screenshot of those settings:

Does it need a restart of PowerBi capacity for these settings to come into play as the visuals are still failing and it says Timeout value: 225 sec. which I am not able to find anywhere.

Its worth noting that this PowerBI report works perfectly fine on Desktop version when I connect to same Dataset for data.

Report connects to PowerBI Dataset which has got live queries, if I remove a certain measure then it starts to load in PowerBI visual but problem is I want visual to load with that measure which works every now and then.

Has anyone faced this issue and can suggest where this Default Time of 225 secs need to be changed as it looks like default thing.

If your visuals are taking 225 seconds to render, the solution isn't to increase the time out, it is to figure out why. Relating fact tables to fact tables can be the biggest no-no. Even if you could change the 225 (I am not sure where you would) your capacity may be running out of memory.

Optimize your model, fine tune your DAX. If you want help with specific optimizations, post very specific and focused questions on the DAX forums.

Thanks @edhans

I am afraid that won't be possible, we have optimized DAX as much as possible, this is DataWarehouse data and is required for users to do analysis Gen2 capacity doesn't even reach out to 50% so we are very much in limit but looking to update this timeout whereever its set.

Well, I've not seen your data or model, but I know that whether it is a combination of DAX optimizations or changes to the model design just about anything can be fixed. No one should accept it takes 225 seconds to render a visual. I don't like 15 seconds. I don't like 5 seconds. Power BI can handle billions of records in milliseconds if the model is designed properly, or it can take over 20 minutes to calculate a few million recoreds for a poorely designed model. You can see this video as an example. Header/Detail vs Star Schema models in Tabular and Power BI - SQLBI

FWIW, I worked with a client about 6 months ago with a visual that was taking anywhere from 3-4 minutes to render, to failing to render depending on the capacity usage. After an hour, we had the visual rendering in under 2 seconds. And I am not a DAX or modeling genius. Never assume your data is fully optimized.
