I have a dataset connecting to a web service and the web call takes a fairly long time to load. I have solved this issue in desktop by changing the timout value to a higher one, however when i upload it to the service the value I entered seems to be ignored and the refresh fails with a timeout error.
Is there any way of changing the default timeout for the service?
Hi @cristian_I ,
From this article, scheduled refresh for imported datasets timeout after two hours. This timeout is increased to five hours for datasets in Premium workspaces. If you are encountering this limit, you can consider reducing the size or complexity of your dataset, or consider breaking the dataset into smaller pieces.
Besides, please ensure that there is enough bandwidth, with a consistant connection to upload the data to the Power BI Service.
Best regards,
Yuliana Gu
I am aware of these limitations and none apply in this case. My timeout error occurs when I am prompted to enter the credentials and it occurs after aproximately 2 minutes.
@v-yulgu-msft any other suggestions for solving this? as mentioned the documentation available is of no help.
