PowerBI Embbeded on SharePoint without necessity of Pro

Hello,

The company where I works want's to purchase the A1 (Power BI Embbeded) to be able to publish and share dashboards within the organization via SharePoint pages but without the obligation of viewers to have PowerBI Pro or PPU, is that possible??

If we get PowerBI Embbeded, goes to our published dashboard and use the option Embed in SharePoint Online, and then instead of sharing the dashboard with the viewer, we share the SharePoint page. Will the viewer, a PowerBI Free users, be able to see this dashboard??

Thanks in advance!!

Hi @dcrosseto ,

The first question:

  • A Power BI Pro or Premium Per User (PPU) license is needed for publishing content to a Power BI app workspace.
  • Only the P SKU allows free Power BI users to consume Power BI apps and shared content, in Power BI service.

The second question:

For Embed in SharePoint Online reports to work, the following is required:

  • The Power BI web part for SharePoint Online requires Modern Pages.

  • To consume an embedded report, users must sign in to Power BI service to activate their Power BI license.

  • Users need a Power BI Pro or Premium Per User (PPU) license, unless the report is hosted in a Power BI Premium capacity (EM or P SKU). In that case, users only need a free Power BI license to view reports embedded in Sharepoint Online.
