PowerBI Dataflows are getting an error with no error message

Hello,

Reports that have been previously refreshing with no issues prior are now receiving an error with no error message- this is across several different dataflows that are only about a million rows which isn't that large.

Error: Request ID: 59a80eb3-f12a-77ad-d8eb-f39a85d7fea0 Activity ID: 1d5a021a-f121-408b-89e2-e7976b161dc6

There are also smaller dataflows that are having the same issue. Does anyone know what this is related to and what the resolution could be?

Thanks,

Hello,rajendraongole1 ,thanks for your concern about this issue.

Your answer is excellent!
And I would like to share some additional solutions below.

Hi,@ucmaoTWG .I am glad to help you.
According to your description, some of your dataflow in Power BI Service started to have problems this week, which was not a problem before. This is indeed very strange, please check the relevant configuration again and try the following actions
1. Data source connections and credentials:
Make sure all data source connections are working and credentials are not expired.
2. Try to adjust the Scheduled Refresh of the data streams to avoid refreshing multiple data streams at the same time during the peak period, and try not to exceed your License capacity limit.
It can't be ruled out that there is an issue with the current Power BI Service itself.
Therefore, contacting Microsoft Power BI Support is a better solution, because for the time being, there are only the Request ID and Activity ID in the error message, but no specific error message, so it is impossible to locate exactly which aspect of the problem has occurred.

I hope my suggestions give you good ideas, if you have any more questions, please clarify in a follow-up reply.

Hi @ucmaoTWG -if you are working on large dataflows (even if only a million rows) can sometimes hit Power BI’s resource or memory limits, especially if the model is complex or if multiple refreshes happen concurrently.

If you’re using a dedicated capacity, make sure it's not overloaded. You can check capacity metrics in the Power BI Admin Portal to monitor CPU usage and memory pressure. If capacity issues are present, consider scaling up or optimizing your data model.

Since you have the Request ID and Activity ID from the error message, these can help Power BI Support troubleshoot more efficiently. If the issue persists, submit a support ticket and provide these details, as they can help pinpoint the cause on Microsoft's end.Ensure that all data sources are still accessible and that credentials haven’t expired. Sometimes, a network change or firewall setting could affect connectivity.

Hope the above details helps to sort out.

Even with smaller dataflows i'm getting a similar error. In individual workspaces. I don't have powerbi premium so we cannot access the capacity usage. This has never been a problem until this week.
