Power BI login Multi Factor Authentication

Hi there,

Since last week my organisation's Power BI accounts are asked to go through Multi Factor Authentication (MFA).

I have enabled MFA on 6 logins out of which 5 logins have never asked me to go through MFA despite setting up one.

The remaining 1 login (my login) has been asking me to go through MFA.

I know my login has admin rights which means I can access Azure Active Directory whereas the remaining logins cannot as they are user logins.

My doubt is once MFA is setup on a Power BI login it should prompt the user to authenticate each time no matter what login it is.

FYI Browser cache has been cleared each time prior to the login.

Could you please help me understand what's really going on with Power BI login MFA.

Thank you in advance!

It depends on how your AD was set up by your admin. Mine is set to only ask every 30 days or so if I am on the same browser. There are cookies that remember me. If I use a different PC, or open an incognito session, or clear all of my cookies, it will ask again immediately. That 30 days can be set to 0 or 365 days. Up to the admin.

Thank you edhans. Could you please help me know where to see for how many days (0 days, 30 days to 365 days) it is set to.

FYI I have cleared cache and moreover changed logging to different browsers but still Power BI never asked me to go through MFA on user logins.
