Currently power bi does not support searching on a filter and selecting all searched results.
Is there any workaround to achieve this? I have a filter on the power bi report showing item names. I want to search for Item-dev and select all search results that appear.
Use Filter by Powerviz in Power BI AppSource.
Still no workaround or feature for this?
@sb19999
I found this link that works quite well. They used a text filter visual.
Slicer search text showing list of results but they are unchecked , how they can be auto checked ? is there any way some one has found?
Hi @sb19999 ,
According to my test, you can select show "select all" option in Format->selection controls. then search for relevant filter results in slicer, these displayed results are selected by default. But after testing, this way does not work for visuals, which still shows the results corresponding to the select all filter.
If the problem is still not resolved, please provide detailed error information and let me know immediately. Looking forward to your reply.
Best Regards,
Henry

No, this does not resolve the issue as what you have described is actually selecting ALL members of the dimension, but the idea is to be able to select only the results of the search and all of them at once - there could be potentially dozens!
i think the primary issue from the user side is that the "select all" option dissappears when something is typed into the search bar.
however i think the issue is more internal than that.
if you have a slicer with with two fields.
container
items.
then search for an item.
you will get a list of containers with the items.
if you select any of the containers you will filter by all the items not just that show in the search results.
so you have to individually select the items that match the search.
there appears to be no easy way to select just what has been searched for in one click. either with a select all or with a hiearchy
Hi @sb19999 ,
Please take a look at the video in the below link, if this is what you want-

Hi @NikhilKumar
No, I am looking to search for a keyword and select all the searched text. In the below screenshot I have searched for 'ja' and 2 results appear. How do I select both the results in one shot instead of clicking them individually.
Not yet @Anonymous The idea is posted but we dont have any updates on this
Hi @sb19999 ,
Activate select all option.
Then search for your keyword.
you can try if that will work.
