Hi everyone,
I'm trying to establish a connection to a MySQL database hosted on a Linux server. I have a virtual machine (VM) that can connect to the database without issues, and I’ve already configured the On-premises data gateway on that VM.
However, when I try to set up the connection through Power BI Service to refresh the data, it fails and I get the following error:
"The connection credentials cannot be updated.
Cannot connect to the data source. The data source is inaccessible; the connection has timed out or the data source credentials are not valid. Check the data source configuration and contact a data source administrator to resolve this issue."
Has anyone encountered this issue or knows how to fix it? Any suggestions on how to successfully connect Power BI Service to the MySQL database would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Hello @LucasMorales12 ,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric Forum Community.
Ensure the On-premises Data Gateway is installed, running, and mapped correctly in Power BI Service.
Verify MySQL remote connections are allowed and port 3306 is open.
Confirm the MySQL ODBC 8.0 (64-bit) driver is installed on the VM.
Check if MySQL credentials are correct and SSL settings are configured properly.
Ensure the gateway service account has necessary permissions to access MySQL.
Please update your On-Premises Data Gateway to the latest version (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=53127) and try again.
You can follow this troubleshooting guide(https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/service-gateway-onprem-tshoot#firewall-or-pr...) to resolve firewall or proxy-related issues. Additionally, exporting the gateway logs can provide more insights into the error.
Remove and re-add the MySQL data source in Power BI Service.
