Did you ever find a solution to this?  I am getting same issue on Power BI service, but no issue in Power BI desktop.  Connection from Power BI service to Snowflake does not require a gateway since both are cloud based.

Hi,

Try upgrading your gateway. It's a new feature so if we upgrade the gateway then it may solve the problem.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Through your description, do you mean "refresh" in powerbi desktop as shown below?

vhenrykmstf_0-1630029005430.png

Refresh normally in the desktop indicates that the data source has been successfully connected and the correct query statement has been used.

Therefore, it may be that the corresponding gateway is not configured after publish to service. For direct query, to connect to the local data source, the gateway must be passed, otherwise the query cannot be sent to the data source. Refer to the following document to check the configuration process:

Connect to Snowflake computing warehouse in Power BI Desktop - Power BI | Microsoft Docs

In additional, you can reference related similar solutions:

If the problem is still not resolved, please provide detailed error information and related operation screenshoots, Looking forward to your reply.

Best Regards,
Henry
