Power BI Service Dashboard Performance

Hi. We have published various dashboards (some of them have composite models) to Power BI Service (with premium license to Pro workspace). We have installed and configured Power BI Gateway Standard Mode on our Virtual Machine. We have our database on PostgreSQL located on the servers in Baku, Azerbaijan. We hoped it would help us to solve the performance issue and also configure the automatix refresh but both failed. Even though, we configured the automatic refresh it gave an error each time we set up a schedule. Also, we couldn't see any major difference between dashbaord reload time before and after gateway configuration. So, I was wondering maybe there is another step or solution that can improve the performance and also handle the automatic refresh.
