Hi Experts,
I retrieved an AWS database via Power BI Desktop and built a report. The owner/admin of the database has approved my IP address. I have published the report in the Power BI Service environment. In Power BI Desktop, I can refresh the report.
The problem:
I can't refresh the report in Power BI Service. I see so many options online, but don't know what the best solution is. I'm curious what the cheapest/easiest solution is possible. For example, I am thinking of:
- Can the AWS database owner/admin approve/whitelist the IP address of powerbi.com?
I'd really like to hear how you look at this.
Thanks!!!!
KG,
John
When connecting to data within AWS (Redshift/Athena) you will need to install and configure a Power BI Gateway.
Install an on-premises data gateway | Microsoft Learn
And then once that is done you would need to configure to connect to your AWS Service.
Here is an example below connecting to Athena.
