Hi everyone,
I am working on building up our Power BI usage and I am having trouble understanding how I can update a Power BI report without replacing the original. The reason I need this is because I want to maintaine the comments left by my clients and replacing the report removes all of the connection and the link.
TLDR: How can I make updates to a specific report without actually replacing it?
Thank you for the help. So it sounds like if I have to make any major changes then I will lose the comments, subscriptions, and refresh cycles?
Do you know any alternative route I can take so that I can republish a report without removing any of that?
Hi @thesson ,
If you just add some pages and visuals with existing dataset, you can directly edit your report on Power BI Service.
But if you need to edit the DAX formula for measure/column, or transform data in Query Editor, you have to do it in Power BI Desktop and republish your .pbix file. So you need to reconfigure your schedule refresh.
