Hi,
I've successfully created a data link from Power BI Desktop to MySQL server, however I've encounted a few issues.
1. When Refreshing in desktop, I need to re-open the SSH Tunnel through PuTTY everytime I want to refresh my data.
How can I fix this, so it'll refresh without having to open up putty and reconnect.
2. I've published the report to Power BI Web, and set up an automatic refresh. However, It won't refresh automatically. I get the below error.
I was wondering if both of these problems could be resolved by the same solution?
thank you
Hello @TristanWood99 ,
Where is your SQL server located? Do you know if there is a connectivity established from the Power BI service to SQL server? Did you try setting up data connection on the gateway?
Regarding your SSH issue, you can try using the port number in your connection string when you define your SQL server name for ex: SQLserver.domain.xxx:5558.
Keeping the tunnel open is not something Power BI can do for you. Find another tool for that.
The error message gives you instructions how to fix the other issue. Follow the instructions.
