Power BI Embedded - Missing Loader Icon During Report Rendering

We are using Power BI Embedded to integrate reports into our application dashboards. Previously, when loading dashboards, the Power BI loader icon would appear until the report fully loaded. Recently, however, we have noticed that the loader no longer appears; instead, the screen goes blank while the report is loading. This behavior gives users the impression that the dashboard is stuck.

Has there been any recent update from Power BI that might have affected the loader's behavior? Any insights or suggestions to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @Surbhi2025_07,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Forum Community.

I understand that the Power BI loader icon is no longer appearing while embedding reports, causing a blank screen during report loading. To resolve this, please follow these steps:

  • Please test in a different browser or incognito mode to eliminate potential browser caching issues.
  • If some reports are affected while others load correctly, the issue might be related to the specific settings of those reports rather than the embedding process itself.
  • Although no official changes have been announced, minor updates in Power BI Embedded may occasionally affect UI behaviors.

 As per the Microsoft documentation below no changes have been made in Power bi.

Hi @Surbhi2025_07 ,

Possible Causes & Fixes:

  1. Recent Power BI Updates:

    • Microsoft may have made changes affecting the default loader behavior. Check the Power BI release notes for any updates.
  2. Custom Embedding Code Issues:

    • Ensure that your embedding code explicitly enables the loader. Try adding: settings: {
      loadPowerBIFrame: true
      }
    • If using Power BI JavaScript API, check for any updates that might require modifications to your code.
  3. CSS or UI Interference:

    • Verify that no custom CSS or JavaScript in your app is hiding the loader.
    • Inspect the network tab in developer tools to see if there are any delayed API calls.
  4. Check Power BI Service Health:

Hi @Surbhi2025_07

As far as I'm away, they haven't been any changes, but there could be something that has changed within the service ecosystem. If you're still struggling, I would recommend logging a support ticket to confirm this behavior. Otherwise, what often happens is it comes right in a few days, typically when there is a small bug that gets fixed.
