Power BI Desktop Shows Data, Online Service is missing 2 columns
Hi,
I have the great report in the desktop that works brillantly. When I publish it to the service and it is refreshed, two pieces of the data just disappear. I have deleted and reloaded. I have tried trimming the field. I'm stumped. It refreshes every night and refuses to pull that data in. I'm not even sure how to begin troubleshooting.

one thing you can try, instead of merging the tables, bring them in as 2 different table with a relationship. And use this to confirm if the data is there.

It's not a refresh issue, but I'm thinking it might be a merge issue. I'm an accountant that is neck-deep in this, but definitely not a programmer so it seems to me that when I merge tables, that gives the online service some trouble? Is that true?

Possible. There are some merges (depending on the data sources) that will not work for various reasons eg data privacy settings

Refresh the complete model in power bi desktop. Assumption is that you are using "old data" in power bi desktop, and when you refresh, its pulling new data, where those could be updated/changed/deleted.
If not, then we need to check the row in the table itself. If you have a primary key for the that line/row, try creating a table visual from that data table only and filter to just that primary key in power bi service. Assumption is your visual is filtering the data out.
