Personal gateway - Not able to authenticate Exchange or a local file.. both fails

Problem 1 - Exchange/Exchange Online Connector

Exchange works just fine in Power BI Desktop, but when publishing to powerbi.com it won't authenticate through the gateway

 

For exchcange oauth authentication i get this error: http://imgur.com/a/dv4q6 (we use oauth ALL the time for other applications)

For exchange windows auth i get this error: http://imgur.com/a/VYWb4  - Complains about exchange autodiscover service

 

Edit: I just confirmed that my UPN in Active directory is the one in the error message. User name is correct. 

 

 

Problem 2 - Text connector

The other source is a file without any file-ending, but powerbi desktop reads it just fine. In english it says that user info has to be entered to connect to the source..

 

Failed to connect to a database. Error message: Legitimasjon må oppgis for å koble til kilden File. (Source on c:\users\remi.ovstebo\appdata\roaming\workrave\historystats.)

You are right. Currently Exchange is not refreshable: Data refresh in Power BI. Please submit an idea.

I can't the first screenshot in your Problem 1. Did you update the Personal Gateway into latest version? What's the authentication you used in Power BI Desktop?

 

For your Problem 2, please always connect a file with extension name. Otherwise the Personal Gateway may regard it like a database to open connection. However, in Power BI Desktop, it will parse it into csv or text.

Yes, I installed the Personal Gateway fresh for this purpose. 

 

You don't get to choose any authentication for Exchange in Power BI Desktop, you just enter the email-adress and it just works. I presume it gets the password from windows somehow? Or maybe the PBI desktop account itself..? See connection settings here: http://imgur.com/a/YFMHm

 

The following text from the help section on this site claims that Exchange is not refreshable: http://imgur.com/a/KWVMm

Our exchange is not moved to office 365, maybe thats required to refresh via gateway?
