Unable to Remove Personal Gateway
I had initially installed Power BI on a previous machine along with the Personal Gateway. I no longer use that computer, and Power BI online was still looking to that old machine for the personal gateway until I downloaded it on my new machine. I have tried uninstalling the PG and installing the OPG, and no matter what I do, I cannot schedule a refresh using the OPG. It is completely greyed out and says the PG is offline.
How can I remove all lingering files of the Personal Gateway, so that I can install and leverage the On-Premise Gateway?

gregluttrull In power bi service go to settings icon on top right hand side -> Manage Gateways -> for your personal gateway -> remove all your data sources -> remove all datasets, reports and dashboards that users that personal gateway. Uninstall personal gateway from your computer and then you should be able to remove it from power bi service.
The gateway and data sources have been removed prior and the personal gateway has been uninstalled, but it's still thinking the connection exists when trying to schedule the refresh.

Based on your description, you want to use On-premises gateway to schedule refresh for your dataset and the On-premises gateway option is greyed out. Firstly, how many data sources are involved in your dataset? If your dataset contains multiple data sources such as SQL Server data source and Excel data source, please add theses data sources(both SQL Server and Excel) under the On-premises gateway and make sure that data sources information you add under the gateway matches exactly what you configure in Power BI Desktop. Assume that you connect to SQL Server database from Power BI Desktop, please ensure that server and database name completely match between Power BI Desktop and the data source within the on-premises data gateway.
Secondly, please note that on-premises gateway doesn’t work with online data sources. For example, if you combine on-premises SQL Server data source and Onedrive in a dataset, you are not able to use on-premises gateway to schedule refresh for the dataset. This is a known issue that has been submitted in this link and the feature that using on-premises gateway to work with online data sources is under review, please vote it. To work around such issue, you can use the personal gateway to schedule refresh for your dataset.
Thirdly, you can use CCleaner to clean up registry of personal gateway, also manually delete personal gateway folder under C:\Program Files.
Please help to describe more details about your scenario if the issue still persists.
