Permissions Issues With Creating Dataflows

I am running into several permissions issues with creating DataFlows and I'm not sure what the cause is. To start with some background, I know that DataFlows are enabled in the tenant settings (I verified with our PowerBI Admin that DataFlows are enabled for the entire org and he is able to create them) and that I am listed as a user on the on-premises data gateway. However, if I attempt to create a dataflow from our SQL Server Database I receive the following errors with the different types of Connection Credentials:

1. Windows - Only admins of an on-premise data gateway can create connections. To use this connection, switch to an on-premise data gateway that you are an admin of, or ask your on-premise data gateway admin to add you as a user of this connection. (Session ID: 1f011849-a015-488c-88d8-1809882a68a5)
2. Basic - Only admins of an on-premise data gateway can create connections. To use this connection, switch to an on-premise data gateway that you are an admin of, or ask your on-premise data gateway admin to add you as a user of this connection. (Session ID: 1f011849-a015-488c-88d8-1809882a68a5)
3. Microsoft - Unable to create an OAuth connection. Reason: "Only admins of an on-premise data gateway can create connections. To use this connection, switch to an on-premise data gateway that you are an admin of, or ask your on-premise data gateway admin to add you as a user of this connection. (Session ID: 1f011849-a015-488c-88d8-1809882a68a5)"

Hi @Anonymous ,

You must miss something. Did you login the gateway by the admin account in your server which holds sql server? Based on my test, after i add users to the data source under gateway. I can use the user to create dataflow in power bi .

As mentioned by nickyvv, you need to provide server name  in the same format with credential in gateway.(All ip address or all server name)

Is there any way for me to create a Data Flow without being an Admin? I thought they added the ability for users of a gateway to make data flows for gateways of which they're not an admin as per this Feature Summary Post:

Shouldn't I be able to create a dataflow as a non-admin though?

This feature summary says "Prior to this update, users would need to be an admin of the gateway before they could create a dataflow against the respective data source."

For awareness, you don't need to be an admin of the (whole) gateway to create a dataflow.

You just need to be added to the specific connection you want to use, which you are as you mentioned @Anonymous.

But be aware, that Power Query (Online), and thus dataflows, are case sensitive. So you'll have to provide the correct casing (so the same as in the gateway), of the server and database for the connection to show up in the dataflow.
