I have a number of Paginated Reports, cobverted from SSRS RDL files. Each is set up in a premium workpsace and use an On Premise Gateway.
Each report is created and published by a pro licence user.
When a user loads the report, sometimes it loads first time and sometimes you have to refresh the browser, but in every case, if you change a report parameter and click the view report button, every user is presented with an error message as below
Could not connect to the data source.
How can this be resolved?
Solved! Go to Solution.
For the reports, make sure all the data sources are configured with a good gateway connection.
You can also check the gateway logs. They might have some information that is useful to help figure out why the reports do not connect to the data source.

Hi @KenH_1
What happens if you create a report without a parameter does it successfully work?
You might have to troubleshoot it by adding items to the report until if fails
Hi @KenH_1
Does this happen for all paginated reports or just one paginated report?
The reason that I am asking is because if it is in one paginated report then there might be an issue with the way the report parameter and associated data source is configured?
Does the paginated report run successfully in the Power BI report builder?
Hi @GilbertQ , thanks for the quick response. It happens with all the paginated reports we have currently published.
All of them run successfully in report builder.
If you have any ideas on how to fix it, i am all ears.
Thanks

after checking with our gateway admins, it turns out it was a gateway issue.
