One large report with Page Level Security or multiple reports per dataset?

With RLS and a navigation page, it's possible to have page level security on a report, so long as a user is kept at viewer permission level and there are no drill downs to a page that shouldn't be seen by a particular user.

I can see the benefit from a managment point of view:

  • The developers would be more likely to consider a datasets entire report suite as they make changes
  • Only need to provide one link to everyone who uses the dataset

But are there any counterpoints/disadvantages to this approach?

Hi @Griffin_BI

Please be aware that currently there is no security with page level security. It is actually just showing or hiding pages, which a user if known can still get to the page via the URL.
