On-premises data gateway - Unable to create data source. Invalid connection credentials

I am unable to create a local data source on my on-premises data gateway. Eveen after adding the correct credentials and file path, I get below error message. I am using enterprise mode.

Have you checked the box “Skip test connection”?

Then click setting,enter username and password and save:

At the beginning, I entered all of them and had the same problem as you, then I used the following method and it worked.

Your source is a file and you will have to specify the full detail of the file path. This would be the \\servername\folder\file.extension

Hi @RiddhiK 

Your filepath is the problem.  Whenever you connect to your files you should use the format "\\Server\Test".  The path in your screenshot is "C:\Test"

 

You will likely need to update your PBIX file and the gateway to make use of a network folder that is accessable by both your Gateway and your Power BI Desktop.

I think you need to spicify your path, I am curious why it is local host? Chang "C:" to server name
