Hello, I have pbix files that contain both connections to a SAP BW database as files from Sharepoint. When I try to set the Sharepoint connection on the on premise gateway I keep getting this error message:
Any idea how to solve this?

Hi @Anonymous ,
The first thing that I would do is to update the gateway to make sure that you have the latest version. After updating, confirm that the data source is accessible in the gateway itself.
After updating, you may have to confirm that the appropriate ports are open (80 and 443).
After that, confirm that there is not something unique about where your gateway and SharePoint reside (like they have to have IP permissions).
After that, you can check the logs to view what is happening.
After that, you can do a network trace while you try to access the data and see what errors come up.
I would appreciate Kudos if my response was helpful. I would also appreciate it if you would Mark this As a Solution if it solved the problem. Thanks!

@collinq thank you for the great and concrete advise! I will talk to my IT department to get those ports opened!
