On Prem Gateway connection strings

hi guys, help on this would be fantastic...

I'm trying to connect power BI to a PostgreSQL database to direct query with local on prem gateway. usually, I'd just use the Host address to connect:"iqo.alco.co" for example (via PG Admin etc) but the data gateway only seems to connect if I use the IP address... the database server and the gateway are running on the same machine. there are 2 postgresql servers at that IP with different hosts, BI automatically connects to DB1 and i need to connect to DB2 to my 2nd DB?

the database server and the gateway are running on the same machine.

Please do not do that.  Gateways need their own dedicated VMs.  They will starve out any other app on the same machine.
