Not able to add a Distribution List or an Office 365 Group to the email subscribers list -Dashboard

We want some Distribution Lists and Office 365  Groups to be added to the subscribers list so that they get email notifications about a Dashboard. Even though I can technically add a Distribution List to the email subscribers list of a dashboard, emails never get sent.

So, far I am only successful adding Individuals to the dashboard.

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Have you share with the external group? If this is a case, current power bi not support send a subscription email to external group:

Subscribe yourself and others to reports and dashboards in the Power BI service#considerations-and-t... 

If you share a dashboard with a colleague outside of your tenant, you can't also create a subscription for that colleague. So if you are aaron@xyz.com, you can share with anyone@ABC.com, but you can't yet subscribe anyone@ABC.com and they can't subscribe to shared content.

If not, any specific settings e enabled to your group? (e.g. security)

We are not sharing this externally. All the groups are Internal and all the members of the group are in the organization. There is no specific settings applied to the group/distribution list.

Do the users in the distribution lists have Pro license? AFAIK, email subscription requires Pro feature.

All the members in the distribution list have Pro licenses. I was looking at the links that you sent about the limitations.

Is the reason for the group not receiving emails because we don't have Power BI Premium? We have an Office 365 E3 Subscription and have assigned Power BI Pro licenses to the users concerned.

I'd like to suggest you confirm if any specific setting enabled on azure or office side.
Your organization may configure certain settings in Azure Active Directory that limit the ability to use email subscriptions in Power BI. These limitations include, but aren't limited to, having multi-factor authentication or IP range restrictions when accessing resources.
