Hi Everyone,
I have created a report with query parameters and published in service. Now the end user wants to change the query parameters as per their wish. So how can an end user is able to change the parameters dynamically from power bi service. When i tried to give access to dataset for the end user, the user can see the dataset but their is no option for settings where the user can directed to parameters option so that from their the user can change the parameters and apply and so dynamically the reports will be updated after refreshing. so to achieve this the end user should see the settings option of parameters in power bi service. how can i give access to the setting of dataset to the end user. if the end user wants to have the option of settings for the parameters then what type of license does the user wants to have. Please help me how to give access for the query parameters in power service for end user.
Here as i am owner of the dataset i can see the settings of parameters and i can apply the changes but how can i give this option to the end user so the user can change by his own and apply the changes. Please help me in solving this issue.
Thanks in advance.
Solved! Go to Solution.
the user who is a contributor in the WS will have to take over the control of your dataset
again this is not recomended

Hi @Lahari
Those configurations are not meant for end user. Only the dataset owner can make changes to those parameters, it means each of your end user has to be a contributer in the work space and will have to Take over the Dataset.
Practically not good.

Hi @aj1973
Thanks for the reply. Please clarify me this doubt.
If I make the end user as contributor then the user can also apply the parameters for the dataset? And so the user can refresh the data and can see those changes in the report?
