Currently we have our central organizational SQL server farm and our enterprise gateway connects to it.
It runs on the SQL node that hosts our SSAS and that allows it to reach out to our SQL server farm.
However, some of our departmetns have their own SQL servers and want to leverage Power BI to connect to their independant servers to access the databases on those.
Is it possible to set it up so they can install their own enterprise gateway on those servers as needed? I don't want all their traffic coming through our existing gateway host because 1. it is separated by firewall restrictions 2. I don't want even more network traffic going through that box. If we take it offline for maintenance, etc... it impacts only us. We can't do maint windows that will align with the needs of those other departments, etc...
Thanks!
Hey,
yes you can install more than one on-premises gateway, each for it's own workload:

Hopefully, this is what you are looking for.

Tom
