Hi guys!
I would like to understand when I get user "Power BI Service" on intreactive queries.
Normally it is the user running the report that will show up here, but sometimes I get user "Power BI service".
Why? Is Power BI service triggering a query without an user or what?
Hi @Anonymous ,
This could be some preparation for the refresh, just as if we were doing a scheduled refresh through a gateway, the power bi service would send the query request to the gateway cloud service.
Hope it helps!

Hi,
I investigated that, but I can see it is not related to a scheduled refresh.
Best regards
Tobias
Hi @Anonymous ,
I think when you are triggering manually it will show user and when you are doing scheduled refresh it will show service. You can test it and confirm.
Thanks,

As you see in the picture, this is not related to background tasks.
This is an interactive operation.
Hi. Very interesting question. I haven't seen that before. I would say that it could be the key to figure it out cheking the Activity Events with the API or at the Admin Monitoring Workspace. That way we could know the exact operation that is running there. If you should guess, it might be an operation with the PowerBi Rest API like exporting the report or something like that.
I hope that helps,
Happy to help!
