Migrating PBI from one tenant to another with shared semantic models

We are migrating to a new tenant, i have exported all the pbix files ready to import into the new tenant.  We have some PBI reports with a shared semantic model, as part of testing i imported the "parent" pbix into the new tenant but when i try and import one of the dependant pbix i get an error.  Basically says something went wrong with no details.

Has anyone done this and can provide details on how i import the dependant reports.

When  exporting there is no option to export the full dataset

Hi @SimoneOS

This is because when you migrate to a new tenant, it has a new connexion string What I would suggest doing is to open up the pbix file and connect to your new semantic model once you have it available in your new tenant

Hi

Changing the connection worked fine once the full migartion had taken place
