We have been reviewing the Fabric Capacity Metrics reporting recently as we've been having our reports get throttled at certain times of the day. This utilization report is great. The drill down called 'Interactive operations for timerange' lists many columns, one of which is 'User'. It contains mostly GUIDs and some named users. I'd like to know what the source is for these users. We're trying to indentify who is actually running the reports. Since we embed our reports in a custom built portal using PowerBI Rest APIs there should only be one user running the reports. But we see several users with GUIDs as their identifier in the drill down report and I need to know where the source of this user data is located. Thanks for any guidance.

Hi,@reportwriter001 I am glad to help you.
I'm glad to see that you're using the Fabric Capacity Metrics feature to monitor your capacity!
You have a question: you want to know the source of the information in the “Users” column, so you know which users performed actions during the period.
Here are my suggestions, which I hope will be helpful to you
1. According to the official documentation, “User” is an identifier of the user who planned or ran the operation (i.e., an ID record that identifies which users initiated or performed an operation during a specific period of time).

That is to say that the record is included in a variety of situations:
1. The system may use service accounts to perform background tasks or operations, and these account acquisitions are also logged, resulting in the appearance of multiple users
2. when you use the Power BI Rest API to embed reports, each call to the API may generate a different user identification, (e.g., a call via a lesser token)
3. Sometimes an account may access the report on different devices or browsers, which may also result in recording multiple user IDs
4. The system may record details of each operation, including different requests and sessions, which may also be recognized as different user IDs.
You can try checking the audit logs to track which users worked on which items and when.

It should be noted that the information you want to track down is related to user privacy, so it may not be able to obtain particularly detailed information, because each user's personal information is important, thank you for your understanding.
I hope my suggestions give you good ideas, if you have any more questions, please clarify in a follow-up reply.
Best Regards,
Carson Jian,
