Hello,
I am merging tables , those are append Queries of SQL queries. Merging works perfectly fine in desktop version but after publishing, it is not showing all the records. I figured out that final merge queries are not giving all the records so it is not showing proper visuals. Please find the screenshots below:
First ss is Desktop and second is from Power BI service:
Desktop version
Power BI service:
Power BI service version
When I first publish it I can see the same report as per the desktop version but as soon as I refresh (scheduled or on-demand) i starts giving wierd results. Everytime I refresh it gives me wrong results. If I download that PBIX file and refresh it on desktop it works perfectly fine but again evenif I republish it starts behaving wrong.
I have set up the privacy level settings as 'Organizational' same on both for the datasources. But still I dont see any improvements.
Hi I am currently experiencing the same issue did you find from where it is coming ? thanks
Hi,
Is the credentials used for refresh the same? - in Desktop and Service?
@meenakp - That was a great question!
@Greg_Deckler, Thanks!
I have faced this in other reporting tool...
The credentials thing may slip out of mind when working with mutiple data sources especially..
I would almost want @Anonymous to double check all data sources 🙂
I have checked all the datasource credentials and they are correct. Even I do not see any errors while providing the gateway connections because I have given the same credentials as per the desktop.
Actually I am appending all datasource queries to append queries in Power BI and doing merge queries on them.
So, I checked append tables are getting all complete records but final merge is not getting desired records. So, If append tables are getting all the records from different datasources than I think credentials are not the issue.
Your logic makes sense to me @Anonymous !
Yes @Anonymous I agree that you may want to double check things as mentioned by @meenakp . Remember, it is not who you are logged into in the Desktop and in the Service, it is how the data connections were setup and if there is a gateway involved whether or not the credentials are different there perhaps and something doesn't have access to the data.
Thanks @Greg_Deckler !!
I have posted this issue on given link. Hope I can get the resolution!!
Anytime @Anonymous , sorry I couldn't do anything but refer you to Issues/support but I don't see how that we could troubleshoot that one in the forums. But, you never know, sometimes somebody else has experienced a similar issue and knows something that helps!
You could check the Issues forum here:

And if it is not there, then you could post it.
